About Heather
Heather is a natural empath with a particular affinity with animals, who has developed her skills over the years to be able to help both man and beast.
The work that she does complements that of the veterinarian or doctor. She strongly believes that all clients should use the services of as many specialists as possible, and not turn their back on the care and medicines available from ‘conventional’ sources. A healer, under any name (be it practitioner, therapist, specialist, etc) cannot cure – they help the person or animal to heal and improve well-being.
Heather began riding at an early age, and quickly became known as someone to send the more challenging horses to. Her intuition and understanding of the equine psyche enabled to her to rehabilitate many horses, some of whom remained in her care until passing over due to old age. Heather treats the animal as a whole, never underestimating the power of the mind, and so is able to assist with behavioural issues.
Specialising in dogs came later; she got her first Dobermann, Challa (from where the name Challa Star comes from) as soon as she moved into her first home as an adult. Almost immediately, Challa was joined by a rescue Dobermann, Rhedinka – followed by another rescue, Caxton. She has devoted her adult life to taking on rescue Dobermanns, all of whom become permanent and much-loved additions to the family.
As a result, large dogs, and dogs with ‘issues’, are no problem to Heather, who takes great pride and comfort from helping the ‘untrainable’ become a secure and happy pet.
